  1. Hi Mr Jones,
I would like to get permission to use some of your 3 view line drawings. Please let me knowhow to go about this.

    Thanks,
    John

    1. Hello John,

      Thanks for your interest.

Your question is very interesting, albeit (!) I can’t directly answer it, as I’m not the author of the book … and this seems to be a legal or copyright issue, which is “beyond my pay grade” (!) as the expression goes.

Rather, the book is in my library, and I felt that the cover art by Jack Leynnwood would be a nice addition to this blog, in the category of aviation art.

I did a little checking around, and discovered (at https://www.ca-registry.com/C0286359-aero-publishers-inc) that Aero Publishers, the book’s publisher, has “merged out”. Another website (http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/biblio/series/aero/aero.htm) states that Aero became TAB books, while a third website (https://openlibrary.org/publishers/Aero_Publishers) suggests (?) that the company was no longer active after the mid-90s. So, it’s all kind of ambiguous, but it seems that Aero no longer exists as an independent corporate entity. The company was located in Fallbrook, California.

I did do a quick check of Amazon, Etsy, and EBay, and found that used copies of Jones’ book are available at all three sites. (Etsy least expensive, at the moment.) Likewise, I’d think that the book could be obtained via inter-library loan (if and when libraries open up again…!) through any public library system.

Coincidentally, in the next few days a new post about a book published by Aero will appear at this blog… (Think P-51 Mustang!)

      Good luck in your endeavors.

      Regards,
      Michael
